The subjects are possibly a Moorish female nurse or servant and a Caucasian female invalid. The nurse/servant is wearing a burnoose with dark headband aand holding an elongated, unidentified tapered, but pointed object. The Caucasian woman is draped with a dark-colored colored quilt. Both are seated against a plain dark background; a light-colored curtain at the left side; a patterned carpet on the floor.
