Skoklosters kyrka är en treskeppig basilika uppförd med skalmurar i tegel. Kyrkan uppfördes under 1200-talets andra hälft som klosterkyrka åt ett nunnekloster tillhörande cistercienserorden. Det är en av de äldsta tegelkyrkorna i mälardalen i gotisk stil och hör till den grupp klosterkyrkor som verkade normgivande för byggandet av sockenkyrkor i Uppland, framförallt vad gäller utformningen av fönster och portaler samt fasadblinderingar
